The It’s Always Monday concept was created from my love of all things lifestyle, wellbeing and fitness. For me, wellbeing is so much more than physical fitness – I don’t train and focus on nutrition simply to look a certain way, I feel so strongly about the fact that these elements have an enormous impact on my mental wellbeing, my state of mind, and in a nutshell, my happiness. Exercise is my release, and fueling my body in a way I know makes me feel good is now an integral part of my lifestyle. When it comes to nutrition I believe in balance, flexibility and consistency – I don’t believe in demonizing food groups, fad diets, and quick fixes, and when it comes to exercise I believe everyone can find some activity that they enjoy, I don’t believe in endless excuses.

PRE & POST NATAL

When I qualified as a personal trainer, I knew from the outset that I wanted to work with both pregnant and post-partum women. When I started my business I didn't have children (I actually joined the hood that is mother a few months ago!), but as someone who trained all the time, relied on exercise not just for physical health but also mental wellbeing, the thought of either struggling to train, or worrying whether I’m training correctly for my changing body (that’s a whole other minefield of worries), honestly, terrified me. Even for an experienced exerciser with a great routine, it can be difficult to know how that routine should change when it comes to pregnancy – can I still lift weights? Can I work my core? What cardio should I do, if any?! That’s where I come in. IAM can help women continue to exercise comfortably and safely throughout each trimester of pregnancy (providing a doctor gives the green light!), putting together programs designed around their changing body and hormones, adapting every session to how THEY are feeling.

It's Always Monday aims to help women get back into exercise post birth, tailoring programs to work towards their short, medium and long term goals. From a physical point of view, it's so important not to rush into exercise, and to take it slowly in the beginning. There are so many perceived challenges for new mums…how can I find the time? How is it possible if I’m breastfeeding? Babies don’t do schedules! We offer longer than average time slots, where we’ll come to you (bonus, you don’t need to go anywhere), so that you if your little bundle of joy demands your attention that’s no issue! We’ll also program to your needs, starting gently and building up, taking all things post birth into consideration. Together, we’ll build your strength and confidence, making your pre and post natal exercise journey a lot more enjoyable and a little less scary. In all honesty, now that I've done it myself, I have a much deeper understanding of the challenges post part can bring, and it's spurred me on even more to help as many new mummies as possible!

FOOD CORNER

Having recently moved from London to Monaco, I personally find that a lot of my previous go to high protein snacks, healthy (ish) treats and supplements aren’t readily available (ok, maybe they’re hidden in a gym vending machine somewhere at best), it would certainly be fair to say that there’s not a lot of choice. Stocking them as part of an It’s Always Monday food corner, and stocking in local Monaco retailers will bring a fresh range of products to a customer who otherwise might not know they exist, YOU!
